I would get rid of the TVs today if my husband would agree to it. He is tv dependent for sure, (especially the world cup!) but maybe I could convince him to do it for a month, like you guys did. As far as ideas of stuff to do, I always get on the internet and search for our area as if I was vacationing here. I try to find new parks to take my girls to in the summer each week. We have found stuff in the area that I had drove past and didn't even know existed! My daughter is 3 too, but I have her involved in activities as well. She does swim lessons for 30 minutes once a week, and gymnastics for an hour, and it helps to break up the monotony of it all.

Ps. I have so many fond memories of the fun things we did on our summer vacations when I was a kid, involving bikes, mud, swimming, make-believe, games, etc. Keep it up, go beyond the month, and make it all summer. It will be a summer your kids won't forget.
SuzanneWindow On The Prairiehttp://windowontheprairie.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1744730207187676250.post-50931639287811866812010-06-19T19:31:35.343-04:002010-06-19T19:31:35.343-04:00Hey Bonnie, thanks for commenting on my blog! I k...Hey Bonnie, thanks for commenting on my blog! I know what you mean about the videogame/TV conundrum. We try and restrict our kids watching and playing too. I love that pic of your son playing the recorder, he looks pretty cross about it - precious! You are absolutely correct about kids wanting our time and attention. Mine are always much more calm and settled after "play" time...as opposed to grumpy after TV time. Anyhoo, this is a loooong comment!Teenyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14681405757848141786noreply@blogger.com
