What about pie? I've been saying that for years. Well actually, my husband and two of my sisters have also been saying that for years. It all happened one Thanksgiving. I had the big feast at my house...my sister Holly drank 2 full glasses of water (who knows why...she doesn't even know why) before we even sat down to eat. I guess the girl was thirsty! Anyhow, she ate a full meal, just like everybody else. Of course after dinner, she was feeling quite full! Like...really, really FULL! She laid around on my couch in misery and kept whining and moaning about how FULL she was! Like, I think the girl was in pain! We hadn't eaten dessert yet and I had made my sisters each a pumpkin pie to take home, as well as the pie we would all share together. After an hour of watching my sister in pure misery, I told her "Why don't you just go home, it's okay."
Then she proceeds to say...
in all her gluttony...
in all her pain...
in all her bloatedness...
"But, what about pie?"
I could not help but laugh out loud! Well, we all laughed! Here she was.. she could hardly move.. could hardly stand life at the point.. and she doesn't want to go home because she will miss the eating of the pumpkin pie! Now that is a hard core pumpkin pie eater! Alas, she would not go pumpkin pie less, for I sent her on her way with her very own pie. I wonder how long.. after she went home.. did she wait.. to eat a slice of that pie? Hmm, I never thought to ask her. Anyhow, that is the story behind the name of my blog. Being as I love to bake pies and knew I would be featuring a lot of pie recipes...I thought it was a fitting title. Basically, the moral of the story here is: There's always room for pie!
