While walking around the yard this afternoon, I came upon a chubby squirrel sitting in the sun. He was snacking on an acorn, turning it over and over in his tiny little hands. He was so cute! and fat! Goodness, this squirrel did not go hungry this winter!
I walked over to my neighbor's house this afternoon and had to laugh...two squirrels were chasing each other round and round a tree, about 15 feet up! So fun to watch!
ReplyDeleteYou must have had a bumper crop of acorns there last fall. He does look quite healthy doesn't he? Great pic too Bonnie.
ReplyDeletewhat recipe did you use on him.
ReplyDeleteOne critter that I have only seen once in my yard in 13 years is a squirrel. I think they are hilarious. .so I'm disappointed that they don't live near me! I'm sure you enjoy yours!! Was wishing to participate in your exchange. .but unfortunately. .I can't think of a thing that I could make to exchange. .hope you girls enjoy it for sure!!
ReplyDeleteI used to make pets out of squirrels. Actually had one I named "Peanut" that would eat out of my hand.
ReplyDeleteBonnie. .just have to let you know. .I tried your mini cupcakes tonight. I tweaked it a little (a true sign of a good cook, right? :-) I don't have mini muffin pans. .so I used reg muffin cups and filled it only a 1/3 full. .which made them like a really thick cookie/or really thin muffin. Then I made the frosting and added 1 tsp peppermint extract and no vanilla and a little green paste coloring. .piped a big wad onto the cakes, and sprinkled with mini chocolate chips. .only cause I couldn't find any kind of mint chocolate candies in my cupboard. They are so cute for St. Patricks day. .and the muffins are soooo light and airy. .great recipe!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
